If you feel you need a little more substance in the mornings, you can have some scrambled eggs topped with cheese and avocado instead. Just make sure you are taking that into account when figuring your daily macros of 75% fat, 20% protein, and 5% carbs. If you need help with these calculations, we suggest downloading the free app called MyFitnessPal.

Can you drink alcohol while living a keto lifestyle?
Is long term keto healthy for you?
Keto can be and is used long term by many people for the health benefits involved. People with dementia, epilepsy, children with autism (check out the documentary called The Magic Pill on Netflix. It talks about this very subject!), digestive issues, inflammation, RA, lupus and so much more. It’s more than just a diet to help you lose weight. It is a lifestyle for many people who suffer from chronic health problems and it provides them with great relief. This is something Drew covers in greater detail in his book Complete Keto.
Why am I not losing any weight?
It’s hard to determine exactly what may be going on that is preventing you from losing weight. There are a number of things that could affect it such as not eating enough calories, not getting enough fat, eating too much protein or too many carbs. But here are some things Drew suggests. Try tweaking your macros, limit your dairy and nuts to only one serving each per day or eliminating entirely, you could be over consuming those. (Try following the CK30 plan and see if this helps!) Remember, weight loss can vary as everybody’s so different and the scale does not always reflect what is going on internally. Weight loss is also very mental and emotional, check out Drew’s book Complete Keto on how to overcome those struggles.
Can I gain muscle on keto?
It is possible to gain muscle with the ketogenic lifestyle, however it will take some time. To start building size you have to wait until your body becomes fat adapted, which can take up to 60-90 days. Drew did a podcast on this very topic. Check it out on The Fit2Fat2Fit Experience podcast, episode 94.
How can I avoid or treat the keto flu?
Drink plenty of water! At least 1/2 your bodyweight in ounces. (A 200-pound person should drink 100 oz of water a day.)
BHBs (exogenous ketones) can help curb the keto flu. We offer these through our sister company Complete Wellness.
Get in those electrolytes, they are NOT optional. 2 tsp. Real Salt or pink Himalayan salt (spread out over the course of the day), 300-500 mg magnesium glycinate or citrate, and 99mg potassium citrate.
